The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 3 Sep 2002 ARNOLD RAY MONTGOMERY Funeral service for Arnold Ray Montgomery, age 74 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2002, in the First Christian Church. Rev. Esten Leonard will officiate and Rev. Gary Bell will assist. Arnold Ray Montgomery, the son of Aaron Moses Montgomery and Elsie Jane Hightower Montgomery, was born on August 23, 1928, in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He died on Sunday, September 1, 2002, in Chickasha. Ray graduated from Middleberg High School in 1947. Several years later he began Montgomery's 81 Truck Stop which he owned and operated for twenty years. He then became an independent insurance agent and retired in 1990 after nineteen years. He married Reba Marie Cook on August 29, 1947, in Chickasha. They had recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. Ray was a member of the First Christian Church where he served as deacon and elder. He was also a member and a past president of the Chickasha Jaycees. Ray was a member of the Grady County and Oklahoma Life Underwriters Association of which he served in various offices. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Chickasha Gold and Country Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Montgomery. Survivors include: Wife: Reba Montgomery of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Susan Montgomery of Plano, Texas; daughter and son-in-law: Janet and Charles Randle of Chickasha; daughter: Paula Fitzpatrick of Chickasha; brother: Clyde Montgomery of Chickasha; sister: Bernice Bookout of Duncan; sister; Olene Gandy of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Chuck Randle, Chad Randle, Colby Randle, Brenna Montgomery, Erin Rae Montgomery, Kyle Montgomery, Kelly Ray Fitzpatrick, Scott Fitzpatrick and Brad Fitzpatrick; seven great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
