T. B. MANNING Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, December 23 at the Verden Methodist Church for Mrs. T. B. Manning. Rev. C. W. Taylo officiated with Rev. J. M. Jones assisting. Music was furnished by a ladies quartet composed of Mrs. I. H. Bilbrey, Mrs. Harry Dodson, Mrs. R. E. Flood and Mrs. O. R. Meyer who sang "Beautiful Isle," "No Night There" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Ivy Horn accompanied them on the piano. Casket bearers were J. N. Kern, Percy Kern, R. H. Brown, W. E. Wiley, Sid McVey and Bill Hullett. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Abbie Francis Manning was born in Missouri, February 19, 1871 and passed away at Nowata, Oklahoma December 20, 1948 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and one day. She was united in marriage to T. B. Manning in 1890 at Maryville, Missouri. To this union were born ten children, three having preceded her in death. They moved to Yukon, Okla. in 1892 and later to the Verden community in 1901. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Manning preceded her in death September 27, 1942. Those left to mourn her departure are four daughters: Mrs. Mary Williams, Blue Jacket, Oklahoma; Mrs. Nellie Swalley, Delaware, Oklahoma; Mrs. Vada Talkington and Mrs. Elsie Peterson, Porterville, California; three sons: Tom Manning, Delaware, Oklahoma; Bill Manning of Truckee, California and Percy Manning, Chickasha; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; one brother Dan Tudder, Muscatah, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
