All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Washita Valley Herald 12 Jul 1962 Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, in the First Methodist Church for Nathan Newton Morris, 71. Rev. Kenneth Martin of Floydada, Texas, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Jerry Newman of Duncan. Music was furnished by Mrs. Bill Dyer, Mrs. W. A. Finley, Mrs. Dale Henricks, and Mrs. Harry Dodson, vocalists, and Mrs. Don Brown, pianist. Pallbearers were Jim Russell, George Russell, A. A. Bishop, Cliff Bryham and Walter Russell. Interment was in the Verden cemetery under the direction of Hansen's Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was born April 27, 1891 in Ashland, Mo., and died at Elk City on July 1. He was married to Miss Emma Lee Lamb in 1916 who preceded him in death in 1918. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and the carpenter's union. Survivors are a son, N. N. Morris of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren; three brothers, Gregg Morris of McFarland, Calif., and EddieMorris of Winsboro, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Ellen Stubblefield of Del City, a step-mother, Mrs. Eliza Morris of Cordell; one half-brother, Frank Morris of Cordell; and three half-sisters, Mrs. Cynthia Harris of Madill, Mrs. Ethel Rohfing of Cordell and Mrs. Lillie Caldwell of Oklahoma City. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
