MARCOM Funeral services for Sammy T. Marcom, 75, of Duncan, were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2002, in the Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Southerland officiated. Sammy T. Marcom was born May 3, 1927, in Lake Creek, Okla., the son of Harris Keen and Grace Maynard Marcom. He died Thursday, October 24, 2002, in Duncan, Okla. Mr. Marcom was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired as a sales manager from PSO Electric Company after 25 years. He founded Barbershoppers and was a member of Duncan Homebuilders Association, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis and Toastmasters. He worked with United Way, serving as chairman one year. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Marcom married Mary Pauline "Penny" Grigg on October 20, 1945, at Port Orchard, Wash. He is survived by his wife, Penny, of the home; three daughters: Sonja Mask and her husband Randy, of Rock Springs, Wyo., Kathy Newby of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Cynthia Smith and husband Clayton, of Chickasha, Okla; one brother, Ray Marcom of Wapaca, Wis.; one sister, Dwanna Valsechhi of Santa Barbara, Calif.; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons Quent Cowan, Kyle Smith, Cody Clingman, Justin Hall, Todd Wadsworth and Eric Smith. Honorary bearers will be PSO employees and Barbershoppers. Burial was in Long Star Cemetery, Rocky, Okla., under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to New Hope Baptist Church West, 5450 W.
