Morgan, 89, passed away at home in Oklahoma City on March 6, 2003, from complications of Parkinson's Disease. Born in Chickasha on July 11, 1913, she was the youngest child of Sydney H. and Daisey E. Dailey. Salutatorian of her Chickasha High School graduating class, she went on to graduate, with honors, from Oklahoma College for Women (now University of Sciences and Arts of Oklahoma) in Chickasha, where she majored in French. Subsequently, she taught elementary school in Clayton, Anadarko and Alex, until her husband returned from overseas military service at the end of World War II. Lola B. Dailey was married to Melvin L. Morgan on May 29, 1940, in Guthrie, at the home of her sister. The Morgans lived first in Alex and later in Blanchard, where Mrs. Morgan has maintained her membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. In 1947 the Morgans moved to Ketchum when they purchased controlling interest in The First State Bank there. Mrs. Morgan was on the Board of Directors of the First State Bank for 25 years. In Ketchum she taught Church School classes and Vacation Bible School classes at the United Methodist Church, where she also served a five-year term as President of the Women's Society of Christian Service (WSCS), and was WSCS Treasurer for the Bartlesville District of the United Methodist Church, as well. For many years, she and her husband sponsored the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in Ketchum. She established, and was den mother for the first Club Scout Pack in Ketchum. She organized and implemented countless fundraising endeavors on behalf of the United Methodist Church of Ketchum, Ketchum Public Schools, and the summer youth baseball program in Ketchum. In 1973, after selling their interest in The First State Bank, the Morgans moved to their current Oklahoma City home. Over the years, they participated in numerous events at Oklahoma City University, alma mater of their four children. They are longtime active members of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, where they were members of the Wednesday Night Bible Study Group, and Mrs. Morgan was a member of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Morgan regularly attended Sunday morning services at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church, until late last summer, when advanced Parkinson's Disease rendered her homebound. Mrs. Morgan is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Melvin L. Morgan, of the home; her children: Dr. Melvin D. Morgan of Los Angeles, Leslie J.
