Born March 10, 1924 in Coine, OK. He grew up, one of five brothers and sisters as a farmer's son in So. Oklahoma. After graduating from Rush Springs High School, like so many others in his day, he immediately enlisted in the military to fight in WWII. As a pilot in the Army Air Corp, he was stationed in Naples, Italy where he met his wife, Elody of 60 years. A highlight of his military service was his participation in the Berlin Airlift. After 10 years of service, Raymond moved his family to So. California where he and Elody raised two sons and worked in both the auto repair and construction industries. After the loss of his younger son Ron in 1979 he and his wife moved to No. California. Always known as an avid sportsman, he was also very active as a member and volunteer in the Elk's Club and Saint Vincent de Paul Society. He was a friend to many; someone there in the time of need, and a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Elody and son, Frank and wife, Angela and grandsons, Tyler and Michael, all of San Mateo. Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, April 2, 2007 at Saint Gregory's Catholic Church in San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society or to Sutter VNA Hospice at 700 S.
