Nightingale Funeral services for Henry A. Nightingale, 86, of Moundridge, Kan., formerly of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at the Plainview Mennonite Church in Chickasha. Ministers Glen Nightingale and Calvin Nightingale will officiate. Henry A. Nightingale was born Oct. 27, 1914, in Chickasha, the son of Andrew B. Nightingale and Carrie (Koehn) Nightingale. He died on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge. On Dec. 17, 1939, Henry and his wife Dessye were married at Chickasha. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Plainview Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in Chickasha. Henry moved to Moundridge three years ago from Chickasha. He was preceded in death by seven brothers, five sisters and one grandson. Survivors include his wife Dessye of the home; three daughters: Priscilla Schmidt of Clarksdale, Mo., Charlotte Jantz of Chickasha, and Judy Esau Grifton of N.C.; one sister, Eva Koehn of Rich Hill, Mo.; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Sevier Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Plainview Church Cemetery, Chickasha, under the direction of Moundridge Funeral Home, Moundridge, Kan. Memorial contributions may be sent to Moundridge Manor in care of the funeral home.
