Funeral services were held at the Cottonwood Grove Church after which the remains were laid to rest in the Cottonwood cemetery by the side of friends who had gone before. We loved him, yes we loved him But our Savior loved him more; In his mercy he has called him, To yonder Shining Shore. The family ties are broken; Our hearts are filled with grief; Yet we think with consolation, Death to him was sweet relief. The Golden Gates were opened, A gentle voice said, Come." The last farewells were spoken, And he calmly entered home. A Friend [Note: Cottonwood cemetery is now Verden Cemetery, Grady CO, OK] Submitted by Sandi Carter
