He was the ninth child of eleven children. He was preceded in death by his father Marion Nelson, and one brother Phillip Nelson. Dale completed high school and continued his education at University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha. He worked at the sanitation department and Bayroid. While in school, Dale was active in sports. He was a good artist, barber and chef. Dale moved to Oklahoma City in 1999. Dale leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his mother, Luciel Alberta Nelson, of chickasha; ten sisters; Margaret Woods, Marion Jean Maloney, Janice Kay Givens, Christine Nelson, Debra Nelson and Kitty Nelson, all of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Tyren Nelson, Dedra Nelson, of Oklahoma City, Mary Nelson Rogers, of Sacramento, Calif., and Ethel Lavon Richardson, of Richardson, Texas; two brothers: William Burdex, of Anadarko, Oklahoma, and Mirion Nelson, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one son: Ronnie Givens; and a host of nieces, nephews that loved and cared for him.
