The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 14 November 2002 ALONZO FLOYD "BUD" NELSON Funeral service for Alonzo Floyd "Bud" Nelson, 72, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2002, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Alonzo Floyd "Bud" Nelson was born August 23, 1930, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the son of Eli and Nellie (Groseclose) Nelson, and died November 12, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Mr. Nelson grew up in Chickasha. He worked as an electronic engineer in New Mexico. In 1968, he moved back to Chickasha and worked at the airport on crop dusters. He also worked at Gabriel, now Arvin, where he retired 1- years ago. He and Emma Jean Livesay were married December 27, 1951, in Chickasha. Mr. Nelson served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the VFW and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by: his parents; 3 sisters: Lois Ferrell, Opal Yates and Ruth Dempster; 1 great grandchild: Cameron Alexander Minnick; 4 nephews. Survivors include: his wife, Emma Jean Nelson of Chickasha; 2 daughters: Karen Schmidt and husband, Lendon, of Chickasha, Sandra Goss and husband, Richard, Jr., of Chickasha; 1 son: Alonzo Floyd "Buddy" Nelson and wife, Paula, of Chickasha; 4 sisters: Lela Pearl Ferrell of Chickasha, Betty Phariss of Chickasha, Ethel Evans of Oklahoma City, Dorothy Olsen and husband, Leo, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. --------------------------------------------------------------------
