NELSON Funeral services for Luciel A. Nelson, 77, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Brown/Christian Funeral Home. Luciel A. Nelson was born April 19, 1925, outside of Frederick, Okla., and died on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at the Grady Memorial Hospital emergency room in Chickasha. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 25 February 2003 LUCIEL ALBERTA NELSON Funeral services for Luciel Alberta Nelson, 77, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2003, at 1:30 at the Shepherd Street Christian Church. Dr. Reverend Nettie Fisher, pastor, and Brother Willie Mays, minister, will be eulogizing. Luciel Alberta Nelson was born on April 19, 1925, to Paul and Corria Brown in Mt. View, OK. She died on Thursday, February 20, 2003, at home. She was the second of four children and grew up in Frederick, OK. There she married Marion Nelson, Sr. She mothered fourteen children. After relocating to Chickasha, she worked at various places such as: Chickasha Hotel, Ranch House Motel, Club 720, OK Barber Supply, Chickasha Compress, Brigg's Barbecue, Whitefront (Lucy's Cafe), and various other places. Luciel joined Shepherd Street Christian Church and remained faithful to the Lord until she departed. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn Perry; one brother, Willie Brown, Sr., and two sons, Phillip and Dale Nelson. She leaves to mourn one sister, Mammie Lou Wagner, of Frederick OK; one sister-in-law, Juanita Brown of Chickasha, OK; nine children; Margaret Woods, Marian Maloney, Janice Givens, Christine Nelson, Debra Nelson, Kitty Nelson, and William Burdex, all of Chickasha, OK; Mary Rogers of Sacramento, CA.; Ethel Richardson of Arlington, TX; four son-in-laws: Troy Maloney II and Emmeral Givens, both of Chickasha, OK; Harold Rogers, Sr., of Sacramento, CA.; Lewis Richardson of Arlington, TX; one daughter-in- law, Leanna Burdex of Chickasha, OK; 39 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery.
