O. Box 247, Verden, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb 25, 1985, in the First United Methodist Church in Verden with Rev. Ed Whitley officiating and Rev. Spencer Ahpeahtone of Carnegie assisting. He married Viola Talkington on Sept. 10, 1929, in Verden. Mr. Osborne returned to Verden in 1964 from California. He had worked in the Verden area as a self-employed plumber. He was an American Indian of the Delaware Tribe and held the position of Elder of the Tribe. Mr. Osborne was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Verden. He was a former member of the Verden Lions Club and of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He was preceded in death by both parents, John R. Osborne and Alice F. Fitzpatrick; four brothers and one sister; and a grandson, Dane Eden Osborne. Survivors include his wife, Viola T. Osborne, of the home; one daughter, Chiquita Ann Downes, of Pasagoula, Miss; one son, David M. Osborne, of Shawnee; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Interment will be in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen-Binyon Chapel, Verden. Melton was born January 31, 1909 in Verden and he died February 21, 1985, in Verden. He and Viola Talkington were married on September 10, 1929 in Verden.
