All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== No name of newspaper 22 July 1962 DEATH AND FUNERALS Mrs. Alice Osborne, 80, a former resident of the Verden community, died Sunday in Riverside, Calif., where she made her home with her son, M. E. "Bud" Osborne. She moved from Verden in 1932 to Maysville, then about 10 years ago she moved to California. Survivors, in addition to her son, include three daughters, Mrs. Wade McDaniel, Mrs. Johnson Walker and Mrs. Edward Rice, all of Riverside, and seven grandchildren, including Mrs. Eston Rice of Wynnewood. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p. m. Thursday in Verden Methodist Church. Interement will be in Verden Cemetery, under direction of Hansen Funeral Home, Verden. Submitted by Sandi Carter Granddaughter of Alice Frances Fitzpatrick Osborne ========== The Washita Valley Herald 2 August 1962 Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Osborne of Riverside, Calif., age 80, were held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Anderson officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Dodson, accompanied by Miss Linda Griffith, furnished the music. Pallbearers were Harold Ray Rice, Randy Earl Rice, Dewayne Osborne, Eston Rice, Edward Rice and Roy Rice. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home. Mrs. Osborne was born July 18, 1882 in Chickasha and died July 22 in Riverside, Calif., where she made her home with her son, M. E. (Bud) Osborne. She moved from Verden in 1932 to Maysville and had lived in California about 8 years. Survivors in addition to her son include three daughters, Mrs. Thelma McDaniel and Mrs. Mae Walker of Hanford, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Dean Rice of Encinitas, Calif.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Emma Lopez of Anadarko; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Hill and Mrs. Marie Welker of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. Nell Montgomery of Glendale, Calif.
