May 2003 LEON OGLE Graveside services for Leon Ogle, 84, of Chickasha, will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, with Reverend Kim Hayes of the Bible Baptist Church officiating. Leon was born January 08, 1919, in Santa Rita, New Mexico. He was the son of Melvin Lee Ogle and Effie Lillie Hurd. He married Dorothy Jack Smith on June 08, 1939, in Anadarko. He went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 13, 2003, in Chickasha. Leon and Dorothy hitchhiked to Fresno, California, during the Oklahoma Dustbowl. While there, he worked at an ice plant and picked cotton. Upon returning to Oklahoma, Leon became a farmer and rancher. He worked for Pet, Inc. for eighteen years, retiring in 1970, to return to full-time farming and ranching. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He passed on all his fishing secrets to his grandchildren as well as many hard-earned lessons about life. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife: Dorothy Ogle, of Shanoan Springs Nursing Home; three daughters: Barbara and Milo Beaver of Moore, OK, Alta Jo O'Neal, of Del City, OK, and Rhonda and Tom Phillips, of Chickasha; two sons: George and Vicki Ogle of Fort Worth TX, and Noel and Margie Ogle, of Chickasha; two brothers: Terry and Frances Ogle, of Long Beach, CA, and Bill and Lucille Ogle, of Chickasha; three sisters: Della Brigham, of Long Beach, CA, Ruby Parrish, of Olympia, WA, and Claire June King, of Long Beach, CA; fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great grandchildren.
