All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 6 June 2004 :Sunset Gardens--Lawton OK FLOYD PICKENS Funeral service for Floyd Pickens, 51, of Chickasha, was held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2004, in Union Baptist Church, Lawton, with Dr. C. W. Whitlow, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens under the direction of Jefferson Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Pickens died June 1, 2004, at an Oklahoma City Hospital. He was born January 3, 1953, to Delbert and Lillie Mae Pickens in Lawton, Okla. He was married to Jimmie Chandler in Oklahoma City. He was a member of Union Baptist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur. He participated in track, football, and basketball. He leaves to forever cherish his memories a devoted friend, Ann Shelton, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; his grandmother, Hattie Means, of Ardmore, Oklahoma; his brother, Billy Ray Pickens, Sr., of Lawton, Oklahoma; his sister and brother-in-law, Lue Fay and Theodore Smocks of Kansas City, Missouri; a niece, LaKita Hill, of Fairbanks, Alaska; nephews, Billy Ray Pickens, Jr. of Seattle, Washington, Kenneth Ray Pickens, Theodore III, and Delbert Dewayne Smocks, of Kansas City, Missouri; two great nieces and five great nephews; a special cousin, Mary Pearl Jones, of Chickasha, Oklahoma; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. His father, Delbert Pickens preceded him in death on February 7, 1996, and his mother, Lillie Pickens, preceded him in death on August 15, 2001. His grandfather and a brother, Delbert Pickens, Jr., also preceded him in death.
