All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Fairlawn Cemetery--Chickasha OK © The Chickasha Express-Star May 2006 Gladys Etta [Hocker] Paty Funeral services for Gladys Etta Paty, 74, of Chickasha will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at the Epworth United Methodist Church, with Kim Domnick and Don Horton officiating. Gladys Etta Paty was born January 25, 1932, in Berlin, Oklahoma, the daughter of George and Etta [Eldridge] Hocker. She died May 2, 2006, at her home in Chickasha. Gladys grew up in Berlin, Oklahoma. She attended Berlin Public Schools graduating from Berlin High School in 1950. Gladys married Rex Paty on April 4, 1951, in Sayre, Oklahoma. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last month. In 1958, Rex and Gladys moved to Chickasha, where they settled and raised their family. Gladys worked for the Chickasha Cotton Oil Company for several years. She was later employed by The First National Bank where she worked for over 25 years, retiring in 1995, as assistant manager of the 6th street branch. She had a kind and loving smile that seemed to attract everyone she came in contact with. She loved people and serving the public. She took great pride in being a homemaker and keeping an immaculate home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed reading, nedlecraft, and traveling. She was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was active with the Meals on Wheels for several years and many other volunteer programs around the community. She was preceded in death by both parents; two sisters: Margaret Hocker and Adele Weichel; three brothers: George, Benny and Bill Hocker. She is survived by her husband, Rex, of the home; daughter and son-in-law: Rita and Jim Roles, of Chickasha; son, Glen Paty, of Saudi Arabia; brother and sister: Lawrence Hocker and Mary Thomas, both of Oklahoma City; granddaughter and husband: Audra and Jason West, of Tulsa; grandson and wife: Brandon and Cindy Paty, of Jenks; granddaughter, DeAnna Miller, of Moore; two grandsons: Adam and Zack Paty, of Edmond; one great grandson, Garrick West; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. At her request there will be no public viewing.
