Don was born August 26, 1928 in Commerce, Oklahoma to Vernie & Martha Pettay. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springdale. He spent most of his working career in the Oil Industrty and spent many years with Sun Oil & Mobil Oil. He is preceded in death by his parents and only sibling Melvin Dean Pettay. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Rose Pettay. Don and Evelyn were married October 17, 1948 in Hutchinson, Kansas. He is also survived by six children, son Daniel Pettay & wife Peggy of Rogers, daughter Laura Quint & husband Martin of Rogers, daughter Lynette Daharsh & husband Mike of Rogers, son Thomas Pettay & wife Eloise of Thibodaux, LA, daughter Donnita Ramzy Abdullah & husband Ahmed Ramzy Abdallah of Rogers, and Allyson Moorman of Rogers, and Allyson Moorman of Rogers. Twelve grandchildren, granddaughter Crystal Woodham & husband Anthony, granddaughter Staci Pettay, granddaughter Kylie Sutton & husband Bryan, granddaughter Erin Pettay, grandson John Randall & wife Malissa, granddaughter Misti Quint, grandson Dustin Quint & wife Susan, granddaughter Teri Ferndandez & husband Josh, grandson Kevin Pettay, granddaughter Katie Thompson, grandson Ben Thompson, and granddaughter Lacey Moorman. Nine great grandchildren, Patrick Pettay, Mitchell Woodham, Courtney Woodham, Keli Cox, Ricki Fernandez, Casi Fernandez, Breanna Pettay, Nicole Quint, and Carson Randall. A memorial service officiated by Charlie Foster will be held Tuesday May 3, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakley Chapel, 3920 W. Walnut, Rogers. Memortial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Hospice c/o Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers, AR 72756. A special thanks to the people of hospice but especially to Teressa for the outstanding care during this very difficult time.
