Joy Pearl Burnett Patterson was born on December 17, 1907 in Blanket, Texas, the daughter of Robert Lee Gray and Kitty Arizona Tidwell. She died Sunday, August 27, 2000 in Chickasha. Joy married Robert Grady Burnett in Dublin, Texas in 1923. She moved to Big Springs, Texas in 1935. After her husband Robert’s death in 1955, Joy married L.D. Patterson in 1956 at Big Springs, Texas. She moved to Oklahoma in 1986. Joy was active in the Eastern Star and a member of the College Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.D.; both parents; two brothers; two sisters and one child, Marilene Joy Burnett Bradley. Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Marie Burnett Sharpe of Ninnekah; one step-daughter, Shirley Ann Patterson McMahan of Colorado, Texas; one son-in-law, James H. Bradley of Dumas, Texas; three grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Interment was in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. Submitted by Sandi Carter
