He was born July 6, 1937 in Dalhart, Texas, to James and Bertha Thomas Patterson. He moved in the Oklahoma City metro area in 1983, coming from the Bridge Creek area. He was a charter member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Faye Patterson; a brother, David Patterson; and two sisters, Gertrude Leatherman and LeEtta Patterson. Survivors include four daughters, Janice Wilson of Oklahoma City, Sue Ollison and husband, Earl, of Bridge Creek, Jill Thomas and husband Jeff of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Brenda Howell and husband Terry of Collierville, Tenn.; three brothers, Dean Patterson and wife Esther of Arkansas; James Patterson and wife Anna of Mannsville, Okla., and Doyle Patterson and wife June of Paradise, Texas; three sisters, Mildres DeArmond and husband Oliver of Bedford, Texas, Rita Shaw and husband Sam of Broken Arrow, and Virginia Chri stopher and husband Dale of El Reno; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Smith & Turner Mortuary. Interment was in the Yukon Cemetery. Submitted by Sandi Carter
