Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Okla., at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 9. Services are under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Arnett. =============== The Chickasha Express-Star 17 July 2002 PATRICK HIRAM PETERS Patrick Hiram Peters of Arnett, Oklahoma, son of Opal and Hiram Peters passed away on July 6, 2002, at the age of 54. Pat lived most of his early life around Maysville, Oklahoma, where he graduated from high school. After high school he spent 6 1/2 years in overseas duty serving his country in the Vietnam War. There, Pat received several awards including: the National Defense Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Later he moved to Oregon where he met Rebecca Bonser, who shared his interests and love of horses, animals and his work as a mechanic. Becky, his beloved wife and helper, became his constant source of comfort during his long illness with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Peters, of Maysville, Oklahoma, in 1984. Patrick is survived by his wife, Rebecca, stepdaughter, Felicia; stepson, Bret; son, Steven, of San Antonio, Texas, and Michael, of Oregon; his mother Opal Peters, of Chickasha; one brother, Pat Minor, of Tribbey, Oklahoma; and one sister, JoAnn Payne, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma; also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Baptist Church at Arnett, Oklahoma, on Tuesday, the 9th of July 2002. Interment occurred at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma. Mr. Terry Jackson, minister, officiated.
