Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on March 3, at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Okla., under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ===== The Chickasha Express-Star 2 March 2004 OPAL EVERETT PETERS Funeral service for Opal Everett Peters, 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2004, int he Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Hillside Cemetery, Purcell, Oklahoma. Opal Everett Peters was born in Milbourne, Arkansas, to Lon and Pearl Everett on May 2, 1909. She died February 29, 2004, in Chickasha. She came to Oklahoma with her family at an early age. Her early years were spent in McClain and Cleveland Counties. The following years she attended college at O.C.W. (now U.S.A.O.) and attended summer terms at O.U. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1941 at O.C.W. She then taught school for 10 years. Opal and Hiram Peters were married in 1930. They owned and operated a dry goods store in Blanchard and later in Maysville, Oklahoma. Later they sold their store and became involved in oil and gas real estate around Garvin and McClain Counties. Opal was a long time member of the Church of Christ and of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hiram Peters of Maysville, her son Patrick Peters of Arnett, Oklahoma, two sisters, Lora Everett and Nona Thompson of Chickasha, and one brother, Earl Everett of Oklahoma City. Survivors include one daughter and her husband, JoAnn and Charles Payne of Ninnekah; one sister, Edna Everett of Chickasha; one brother and his wife, Dr. Carl Everett and wife, Mary Hope Everett of Ft. Worth, Texas; three grandsons and their wives, Michael and Heidi Matthews, Chuck and Barbara Woodridge, Steven and Sheila Peters; one granddaughter, JoAnita Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Joe and Bridget Mitchell, Michael and Emily Mitchell, and Megan and Bobby Bingham; one great great grandson, Brayden Bingham; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Pat Peters and her children, Felicia and Brent; sister-in-law, Josephine Everett; nieces, Nancy Knoy, Ellen and Sonny Bingham; nephew, Richard and Patti Everett.
