"M.M. Phillips, 69, Dies In Home of Daughter Here Funeral service was conducted Monday from the Missionary Baptist Church for M.M. Phillips, who died Sunday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clifton Cast, here. The pastor, W. Barry Garrett preached the sermon. Interment was made in the local cemetery under the supervision of Callaway and Mullican. Miles Milon Phillips was born in Illinois on the 28th day of March 1876, he departed this life on Sept. 30, at 10:30pm. He was 69 years, 6 months, and 2 days of age. He went to Texas with his parentes in 1881 and settled at Poolville, Parker county, where he grew to manhood. He was married to Nipsie Pool in 1897; to this union were born 6 children, five of whom are living; one died in infancy. They are Labon of Ft. Worth, Texas; Mrs. Trudie Thompson of Yukon; Mrs. Juanita Cast of Rush Springs; Lowell in in the army stationed at Alexandria, La.; Orbon who spent 3 years with the Eng. Corps in the South Pacific, now has his discharge and will make his home at Poolville, Texas. He is also survived by 4 brothers, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death 16 years ago.
