Platt were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Anderson, pastor, officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Aubrey Finley and Mrs. Chester Heavin with Mrs. Don Brown at the piano. Pallbearers were Martin Henry, Ernest Henry, Jack Finley, Monroe Jones and Roy Alexander. Mrs. Platt died Tuesday (13 October 1964) in a Norman hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born Oct. 18, 1877 in Stone County, Ark., and was married to Columbus W. Platt July 11, 1894. They moved to the Verden community in 1911 where Mr. Platt died in 1944. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years. Mrs. Platt is survived by six sons, Troy of Anaheim, Calif., Ernest of Huntington Beach, Calif., Carris, Ferris and Ray of Oklahoma City, and Robert of Amarillo, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Weiner of Huntington Beach, Mrs. Myrtle Dirickson of Verden and Mrs. Irene Norton of Moore; one sister, Mrs. Maud Strickland of Oklahoma City; 37 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
