Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== Chickasha Express-Star 12 July 2001 Noble "Earl" Pence Funeral service for Noble "Earl" Pence, 85, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 12, 2001, at the Calvary Baptist Church. Noble "Earl" Pence was born January 9, 1916, in Atoka, Oklahoma, the son of Aaron and Anna (Dobyns) Pence, and died Monday, July 9, 2001, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Earl was raised and attended school in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was a builder for many years in Chickasha before moving to work on construction of the Glen Canyon Dam in Page, Arizona. He lived in the Southwest for many years before retiring in Checotah, Oklahoma, where he pursued his love of gardening. He was recognized for his outstanding success in gardening by the local press. He returned to Chickasha where he and his wife, Roberta Pence had lived for six years. Earl and Roberta Trammell were married December 24, 1941, in Chickasha, where they became members of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Pence was a volunteer who helped construct the first building at Calvary Baptist Church. In addition, he volunteered as a builder and member of the Bible Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, where he also served as deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Roberta Pence, June 11, 2001, and his grandson, Bradley Martin, 1 brother, Arthur Pence, and 1 sister, Elizabeth Pence. Survivors include: 2 daughters and their husbands: Charlotte and Jim Martin, Glenda and John Hodgson; 1 son and his wife: Wayne and Jill Pence; grandsons: Jeff Martin, Greg Martin and Shayne Pence; granddaughter: Ashley Pence; 3 sisters: Alice Rhodes, Martha Griswold and Mary Tuck. Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church in memory of Earl Pence.
