Funeral services were Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Gray Funeral Home Chapel, with Jim Antwine, Lawton, officiating. Burial was in Grandfield Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Parris was born August 8, 1919, in Tillman County, Oklahoma, to George and Alice (McMahon) Parris. At an early age he moved to Munday, Texas, where he lived until relocating to the Grandfield and Davidson areas in 1923. He attended Wilson Consolidated School and Victory High School where he graduated in 1938. He and Nonnie Lee Holder were married in 1941. She preceded him in death on November 15, 1991. Granville was in the U. S. Navy from 1942 to 1945, and was awarded the Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He farmed and was the owner/operator of a trucking company. He retired in 1975, and moved to Kingston, Oklahoma. He and Lois (Baldwin) were married June 10, 1992, in Whitesboro, Texas. They moved to Chickasha in 2001, where he resided until his death. Survivors include: son, William Granville Parris, Jr. (Nick); daughters, Dana Rainey, of Burneyville, Oklahoma, Mitzi Horn, of Durant; one sister, Geraldine Oswalt, of Chickasha; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. One daughter, Stacy Castleberry, also preceded him in death. He was a Baptist.
