Parish Funeral services for Rufus Clay Parish were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Church of Christ in Rush Springs, Clif Werhan officiated. Parish, 71 was born June 20, 1910 in Rush Springs. He died Thursday at the Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha following a lengthy illness. Parish lived in Rush Springs until 1946 and later moved to Lindsay. In 1959, he moved to Carnegie and returned to Rush Springs in 1975. He was retired from the Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. He married Helen Johnson March 25, 1933 in Rush Springs and was a member of the Church of Christ here. Survivors include his wife Helen of the home, three daughters, Dorothy McClure of Lindsay, Shirley Boevers of Verden, and Lois Sweet of Chickasha; three sisters, Eunice Foster, Callie Foster, and Lady Murray, all of Rush Springs; a brother, James of Houston, Texas; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Burial was in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home.
