Burial will be in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel of Rush Springs. =========== Rush Springs Gazette Aug 15 2002 Fern Marie Pursley, 81 of Rush Springs died Sunday, August 11, 2002 in Gregston Nursing Home, Marlow. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 14 in the Church of Christ in Rush Springs with Clif Werhan officiating. Burial was in Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway- Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs. Pursley was born December 17, 1920 in Sunset Texas, the daughter of Charley Howell and Lutie (Brewer) Howell. She and Gordon Pursley were married June 20, 1942 in Tulsa Oklahoma. She grew up in Rush Springs where she graduated from high school in 1938. She also lived in Illinois for several years before moving to Pampa, Texas in 1956. She retired to Rush Springs in 1972. She was a homemaker. Fern was an active member in the Rush Springs Church of Christ where she was a member. She also enjoyed cooking and helping others in any way she could. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother. Survivors include two sons, Mike Pursley of Rush Springs and Wayne Pursley and wife Pat of Rush Springs; brother Jimmy Glass and wife June of Ninnekah; and a siter, Jean Shaver and husband Arnold of Abilene, Texas; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Randy Griswold, James Sweat, Danny Martin, Johnny Walker, Terry Havins, Don Hall and Billy Evans. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Sweat and Ocie Davis.
