Evelyn Lee Perkins was born June 13, 1921, in Grady County, the daughter of Ora Oliver Goodnight and Anna Lee Hill Goodnight. She died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Chickasha. Evelyn married James Oliver Perkins, in Chickasha. Evelyn had resided in the Grady County area all of her life. She was a homemaker and had been employed with Pet Milk, retiring in 1986. She was preceded in death by both parents, one sister, Lilly Petty, and one grandson, Dr. Trace Perkins. Also preceded her in death was her husband, James Oliver Perkins, on March 30, 1992. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: J. O. and Loretta Perkins, of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Charles and Frances Perkins, of Ninnekah, Oklahoma, Jim and Charlotte Perkins, of Bedford, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and LaVerne Goodnight, of Blanchard; two sisters, Louise Hill, of Amber, Oklahoma, Maxine Smith, of Chickasha; seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
