HUMPHREY PERSINGER Funeral service for Barbara G. Humphrey Persinger, 69, of Chickasha, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Persinger was born June 11, 1933, northeast of Chickasha, the daughter of Jimmy and Thelma Brunt Nance, and died Saturday, March 1, 2003, in Chickasha. She lived in the Chickasha area all of her life, graduating from Friend High School. She had worked for savings and loans and Hess Oil Company. Barbara later worked for Grady Memorial Hospital, where she retired. She married Marshall Humphrey, who preceded her in death. She later married Donnie Persinger on September 12, 1975. Barbara was recognized in the Outstanding Young Woman of America and served as Vice President of the State of Oklahoma Republican Womens Organization from 1966 to 1968. She was very active with campaigns for Henry Bellmon, Dewey Bartlett and James V. Smith. She was preceded in death by: Husband: George Marshall Humphrey in 1974; her parents: Jimmy and Thelma Brunt Nance. Survivors include: her husband: William D. Donnie Persinger of the home; two sons: Gary M. Humphrey of Oklahoma City and Greg Humphrey of Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter and her husband: Tami and Rick Ford of Chickasha; one brother: Basil Nance of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Blair and Amity Humphrey, Dilan and Haylee Humphrey, Matthew, Erik and Andrew Ford, Allie and Preston Persinger, Alicia, Chance, Patrick and Brianna Bloomfield; one stepson: Kelly Persinger; and one stepdaughter: Debbie Humphrey Bloomfield. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery Under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
