Parsons, 54, will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday 30, 2004 at the Crossroads Cathedral Church in Oklahoma City. The Reverand Gary Bohamon and Reverend Dr. Daniel T. Sheaffer will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Omega Cemetery west of Kingfisher. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing was from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2004 at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Viewing at Crossroads Cathedral Church were from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2004. Gary was born July 14, 1950 in Elk City, Oklahoma to J.B. and Anna Lee Vandagriff Parsons and departed this life on November 24, 2004 at Fairview. Gary grew up on a farm near Reydon, Oklahoma. When he was 14, the family moved to Amber where they also farmed. Gary attended school at Reydon and then graduated from Chickasha High School in 1968. Gary joined the U.S. Marines and served during the Vietnam War. After returing from the service, he attended the University of Oklahoma. During this time he began working for Court Saddlery out of Bryan, Texas as a nation-wide sales representative and later began desigining saddles for them. Gary married Jodie Perdue in the spring of 1978 at Crossroads Cathedral in Oklahoma. He continued to work for Court's and also represented for several other companies. In 1977 he branched out on his own, designinh western accessories such as belts, buckles, cufflinks, vests and boots. Gary was very creative and designed everything imaginable. Although his primary interest was western theme, he also worked with Harley Davidson and Hummer. He designed presidential buckle sets for President George H.W. Bush and President George H. Bush, four buckle sets and belts for David Letterman and a briefcase, boots and belt for Arnold Schwarzenegger. His main markets were in Denver and the National Finals Rodeo Convention in Las Vegas. Above all, Gary was a devoted family man. He and Jodie were blessed with two sons, Chase and Cash. The family loved travelling all over the United States and one medmorable vacation was following Chase's high school graduation when the family went to France. Gary and Jodie's number one desire was to give their boys the best life they could, both spiritually and emotionally. The entire family worked together as a team and enjoyed life together. Gary was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend and lived as a true Christian. His family is comforted by the knowledge that Gary and Jodie are together again and will be watching over the boys from their Heavenly Home. He is survived by two sons, Chase D, Parsons of Oklahoma City and Cash C. Parsons of fairview, his mother, Anna Parsons of Dallas, Texas; two brothers, Loyd Hooper of Wichita Falls, Texas and Rick Parsons of Bluff City, Tennessee; two sisters, Shirley Parsons of Fairview and Sharon Janezyk and husband Stan of Dallas, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his father, J.B. Parsons and wife Jodie Parsons. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the charity of your choice.
