All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Anadarko Daily News 25 March 1992 SHARON RIFE NORMAN - Private services for former Verden and Anadarko resident Sharon Sage Rife, 57, of Norman will be at 11 a.m. today at the Verden United Methodist Church with Dr. Glenn Doak officiating and the Rev. Joe Albrecht assisting. Rife was born June 19, 1934 in Verden and died Monday at the Norman Regional Hospital following an extended illness. She worked for the Pauls Valley General Hospital before retiring two years ago because of ill health. She previously worked for the Oklahoma County Assessor's Office and the Garvin County Clerk's office. She had also worked at the Flying Bar S Ranch during the 12 years she lived in Wynnewood. She moved to Norman two years ago and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Norman. She grew up in Verden and Anadarko and was a graduate of Anadarko High School. She married Johnny K. Rife in 1952 in Anadarko. He died Dec. 18, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Milton Bryan and Thelma Sage Franklin, and one son, John Kimberly Rife, who died in 1989. Survivors include one son and his wife, Gary A. and Jonella Frank Rife of Norman; two sisters, Lasca Stephens of Burneyville and Carol Muske of Pauls Valley; one brother, Milton Bryan Franklin of Bridgeport, Texas; three grandchildren, and her mother-in-law, Eva Rife of Anadarko. Burial was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of the Mayes Funeral Directors of Norman. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Cleveland County Unit, 2221 W.
