Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 13 September 2000 Bobbe Roberts Funeral service for Bobbe Roberts, age 72, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2000, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Gary Layman of the New Life Christian Church will officiate and Rev. Gary Bell of the First Christian Church will assist. Bobbe Roberts was born on August 17, 1928, the daughter of Dr. Robert S. Ward and Lila Benson Ward, at Hobart, Oklahoma. She died on Monday, September 11, 2000, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bobbe grew up in Hobart and graduated from Hobart High School. She lived in Lawton for a short time and worked at Security Bank and Trust. While in Lawton, Bobbe met Charles C. Roberts, and they were married on January 23, 1953. In 1954, they moved to Chickasha where Bobbe became the director of the Chickasha Opportunity Workshop. She ended her career at the workshop in 1979 with 15 years of service. Bobbe later worked at Hermetic Switch for a short time. Bobbe was a member of the First Christian Church. She was very active in the P.T.A. and other parent activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and one granddaughter. Survivors include her husband, Charles C. Roberts of Chickasha; daughter and son-in-law, Charla K. and David Posey of Chickasha; grandson, Ryan Posey of Chickasha; granddaughter, Brooke Posey of Chickasha. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Life Christian Church Youth Group.
