Wake service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2001, in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Joe Rigney Ross was born Aug. 6, 1927, in Chickasha, Okla., the son of Joseph F. and Margaret (Rigney) Ross, and died Thursday, July 12, 2001, at his home in Chickasha. Mr. Ross graduated from St. Joseph's Catholic School in Chickasha and from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He lived in Chickasha all his life. Mr. Ross owned and operated the Ross Oil Company, retiring three years ago. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Ross was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, JoAnn Campo. Survivors include two daughters, Julie Pickle of Enid, Okla., and Jan Ross of Norman, Okla.; two sons, Jay Ross of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Mark Ross of Ardmore, Okla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Margery McDoniel and Dr. Bill McDoniel of Chickasha, Okla.; two grandchildren, Andy and Aryn Pickle of Enid, Okla. and several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Holy Name section, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
