RICHIE Funeral services for Donald L. Richie, 53, of Chickasha, Okla., are pending with Fletcher-Jefferson Funeral Chapel, of Lawton, Okla. Donald L. Richie was found deceased at his home on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 9 May 2003 DONALD L. RICHIE Memorial service for Donald L. Richie, 53, of Chickasha, will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2003, in First Baptist Church, First and Dakota, with Rev. Abraham Walton, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Fletcher- Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Mr. Richie was found May 6, 2003, at his home following an illness. Military honors will be conducted at gravesite. He was born October 2, 1949, in Chickasha, Okla. He was married to Emma J. Watson on March 13, 1971, in Chickasha. They later divorced. Donald graduated from Chickasha High School in 1967 and was a member of the St. Paul AME Church. He went to college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Okla., and he served in the United States Army until he was wounded in combat duty during the Vietnam War. During his tour of military service, Donald received several decorations and awards: Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle M14), Sharpshooter (Rifle M16), and First Class Gunner (M60). He served in the Chickasha Police Department 10 years. Donald fell short of just a couple of months of retiring from Delta Faucet due to illness. Donald Richie departed this life on Tuesday, May 6, 2003. He is preceded in death by both parents, Joseph and Mildred Richie, and one brother, Scott Howard. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Donna Richie, and one son, Donald (Shakayla) Richie, Jr., both of Chickasha, OK; three brothers, Raymond (Phyllis) Richie, Duncan, OK, Mamsa (Syedah) Islam, Oklahoma City, and Timothy Richie, of Chickasha, OK; two sisters, Marilyn (Alphonso) Jacobs, Florence, S>C>, and Eileen K.
