Graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the Highland Cemetery, Durant, Oklahoma. Services will be conducted by Rev. Dwain Jones. Joe Risner was born January 7, 1928, in Bennington, Oklahoma, the son of Ben and Hattie Estelle (Rodgers) Risner, and died February 6, 2003, in Oklahoma City. Mr. Risner grew up in Durant, Oklahoma. He had lived in Chickasha since 1955. Mr. Risner owned and operated Risner's Jewelry for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Risner was preceded in death by: parents; 2 brothers: Ben Jack Risner, Frank Risner; 1 sister: Mae Garnett. Survivors include: wife: Helen Risner of the home; 1 son: Billy Joe Risner, Jr. of Sunset, Texas; 1 daughter: Marchita Ruth Risner of Keller, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Ben David, Danny Joe, Molly Lynn, Buffy Jo and Payton; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Jean Fuller and husband Bob of Joplin, Missouri, Carrie Lee Crockett of Joplin, Missouri; 2 sisters-in-law: Wanda Risner of Chickasha, Betty Risner of Texas; 2 stepchildren: Michael Stehr and Deborah Stehr; numerous nieces and nephews.
