RICHARDSON Funeral service for Glenn Richardson, 82, of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha. Glenn Richardson was born September 14, 1923 in Ft. Cobb, Oklahoma and died November 11, 2005. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. ========== Chickasha Express-Star Tuesday, 15 November 2005 GLENN W. RICHARDSON Funeral service for Glenn W. Richardson, 82, of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Chickasha. Reverend Johnny Tims, pastor, will be officiating. Glenn W. Richardson was born September 14, 1923 at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, to Walter L. and Rosalie May (Wellman) Richardson. He died November 11, 2005 at his farm near Verden. He married Naomi Mae Pitts of Fort Cobb on January 6, 1945, in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. He was a dairy farmer, father and grandfather, and was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Chickasha, for 54 years. His childhood was spent in Fort Cobb, where he attended Crescent School and graduated from Fort Cobb High School in 1940. He attended Trade school in Chickasha to be trained as a pattern maker. His skills enabled him to work in a foundry during World War II in Fairfield, Connecticut, making aluminum parts to support the war effort. Following his marriage, he and his wife lived west of Binger for five years, moved to Ninnekah in 1950, to Chickasha in 1952, and to their farm near Verden in 1957. He was an active leader and supporter of school and community activities including Verden PTA, school and athletic organizations, and Grady County 4-H Clubs. He served on the Verden School Board for 20 years. Mr. & Mrs. Richardson were honored as the Oklahoma Farm Bureau State Farm Family of the Year. He enjoyed woodworking, reading, and attending the various activities of his grandchildren. The focus of Mr. Richardson's life was his wife, chikdren and grandchildren. Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by: his wife: Naomi; his parents; two brothers, Harold Richardson and Gerald Richardson; and one sister, Rena Smith. He is survived by: three daughters: Linda McElroy of Purcell; her children Lisa and Dennis Wright of Norma, and Greg and Kelli McElroy of Ft. Worth, Texas; Jenell and husband Sam Hendry of Shawnee; their children Scott Hendry of Norman and Lauren Hendry of Shawnee; Karen and husband Dean Cummingham of Verden; their children Michael Cunningham of Norman and Daniel Cunningham of Verden; one sister: Leota Hibbs of Weston, Missouri; sister-in-law: Lorene Pitts of La Habra, California; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives. In honor of the grandfather, Mr. Richardson's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.
