All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Verden News 19 January 1951 BERT REED SERVICES HELD TUESDAY, JAN. 14 Funeral services for Bert Reed, 75, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, at the Verden Baptist Church. Rev. C. W. Taylor officiated, assisted by Rev. George Gaidaroff, pastor. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Music for the service was rendered by a quartet composed of Mrs. J. N. Kern, Mrs. Don Brown, Mrs. C. W. Hamill and Mrs. Harry Dodson who sang "Sweet Bye and By." "Till We Meet" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. I. H. Bilbrey was pianist. Casket bearers were Lavel Platt, John Kern, Paul DeBoard, Ott Dirickson, Tack Dirickson and Roy Hamrick. Mr. Reed was born January 11, 1876 at Lebanon, Pennsylvania and passed away on January 14, 1951 at Clinton, Okla. He had been in failing health the past several years and has been in a hospital at Clinton since Nov. 47. He moved to Oklahoma in 1915 from Sioux City, Iowa where he had lived since 1882. He was married to Ada Carmack Feb. 27, 1918 at Ada, Okla. They moved to Verden in 1919 where they have since lived.
