"Herbert Rider Herbert Rider, 77, 1202 Soiuth 5th Street died today in Grady Memorial Hospital folling a heart attack at his home Tuesday evening. Herbert Rider was born February 24, 1890 at Lehigh, Kansas. He moved from Kansas to Covington. He had resided in Chickasha for over 50 years. He was a machinist all of his life. He owned and operated the Rider Machine Shop since 1945. He had served as shop foreman with Chickasha Iron Works for 19 years before entering his own business. He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church. Funeral services were held Saurday in the chapel of Sevier Funeral Home with Rev. J.C. Curry Jr., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church officiating. Survivors include his wife, Manda of the home; 2 sons, Ralph Rider of Denton, Texas and Bob Rider of Tonkawa; 2 daughters, Mrs. Joann Jennings of Los Alamos, New Mexico and Mrs. Gertrude Kanady of St. Joseph, Missouri; 2 step daughters, Mrs. Willard Berg of Kansas City, Missouri and Mrs. Carolyn Pogue of Chickasha; one step son, Leroy Barrett of Oklahoma City ; 3 sisters, Mrs. Charles Marksburg of Braggs, Mrs. William Davis of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Wesley Lunger of Covington; and 10 grandchildren." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Grady County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/grady/grady.html
