Joy Mex Rinn died on Saturday, June 8, 2002, in Oklahoma City. ==================== The Chickasha Express-Star 11 June 2002 JOY MEX RINN Memorial funeral services for Joy Mex Rinn, 78, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2002, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Joy Mex Rinn was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Lindsay, Okla., and died on Saturday, June 8, 2002, in Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Rose Jill Cemetery, under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. ==================== The Chickasha Express-Star 12 June 2002 JOY MEX RINN Memorial funeral service for Joy Mex Rinn, age 78 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2002, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Joy Mex Rinn was born the daughter of Jonathan Mex Bullock and Stella Phelps Bullock, on November 21, 1924, in Lindsay, Oklahoma. She died on Saturday, June 8, 2002, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Joy was raised in Pauls Valley and moved to Chickasha in 1936. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1941. After graduation, she married Edmond Valton Rinn, Jr., and they moved to San Francisco during World War II. In 1945, they moved back to Chickasha. She attended Oklahoma College for Women and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in teaching. She taught at Ninnekah Schools for seventeen years. Joy was president of the Ninnekah Association of Classroom Teachers. She was a member of the Oklahoma Education Association and the National Education Association. Joy was a member of the Junior Social Workers where she served as President for one year. Joy was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had served on the Chickasha City Council for four years. Survivors include: son, Rodney Mex Rinn, of Chickasha; granddaughter, Megan Mex Rinn, of Chickasha; and grandson, Jonathan Mex Rinn, of Chickasha. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, USAO, or Ninnekah School Library.
