"Dob" Romo, 92, Lawton, will be 10 a.m. Thursday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ralph Davis, retired minister, Cyril, officiating. Mr. Romo died Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at a local hospital. Burial will be in the Pioneer Cemetery, Southwest of Chickasha. He was born on August 14, 1912 in Brownwood, Texas to Jacob and Virginia (Gonzalez) Romo. He came to Oklahoma from Texas with his family on covered wagon to pick cotton. He married Syble Irene McDonald in Chickasha on November 27, 1933. Mr. Romo played the steel guitar for many of the local bands in the Lawton area. Survivors include his wife of the home; two daughters, Anita Darlene Romo, of the home; and Janis F. Richardson and her husband, Edward N., of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Ashley and Whitney Richardson, both of Shawnee; and two sisters, Vera Ward of Phoenix, Arizona, and Annie Garcia of Wolf City, Texas. His son, Billy Raymond Romo, and ten brothers and sisters, preceded him in death.
