All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Marlow Cemetery--Marlow OK Duncan Banner 10/21/2002 James Merrill Reynolds MARLOW — James Merrill Reynolds, 94, of Marlow died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002, in Marlow. Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church in Marlow with Bro. James Croswell officiating. Burial will be in Marlow Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mr. Reynolds was born July 10, 1908, in Portales, N.M., to James M. and Ollie Bell McCollum Reynolds. He married Virgie Lee Mercer on April 23, 1946, in Wichita Falls. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 1987. Mr. Reynolds graduated from Rush Springs High School in 1927, and attended Cameron University in Lawton. He had lived in Marlow since 1945. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Mr. Reynolds opened Reynold’s Grocery Store in November of 1945. He was a former president of the Marlow Lions Club and was active in the Marlow Chamber of Commerce since 1945. He was a member of Fifth Street Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Veldean Reynolds of Marlow; two step-daughters and sons-in-laws, Doris Jean and Bob Blanton of Marlow and Frankie Dean and Blair Adkins of Lindsay; a sister, Betty Jean Shelton of Las Vegas, Nev.; two grandchildren, Chase Reynolds of Lawton and Seth Reynolds of Marlow; and three step-grandchildren, Bruce Nite of Marlow, and Terri Cooper and Russell Adkins both of Lindsay. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and three sisters. Bearers will be Jimmy Burton, Vernal Rowland, Virgle Richards Jr., Darrel Haynes, Ronnie Kunze, Jimmy Blackburn and Jerry Blackburn.
