Almar Drive. Clifford Leon Spotts was born July 24, 1917, and died on Wednesday. April 30, 2003. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 2 May 2003 CLIFFORD LEON SPOTTS Funeral service for Clifford Leon Spotts, age 85 of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2003, in the Grand Assembly of God Church at their new location at 102 W. Almar Drive. Rev. Larry Hatfield will officiate and Rev. Dwain Jones will assist. Clifford Leon Spotts was born the son of Charles Adam Spotts and Alice Matilda Soper Spotts on July 24, 1917, in Linn County, Kansas. He died on Wednesday. April 30, 2003, in Chickasha. Cliff grew up in eastern Kansas. He began working in the oilfield business at the age of seventeen. Cliff married Maxine Horton on January 9, 1939, in Medford, Oklahoma. After their marriage, he continued working in the oilfield in Kansas as a rig superintendent. They moved to Texas where he began work for Phillips Petroleum. Later, they moved to Las Vegas Nevada and he worked for Fenix and Scisson Engineering Consultants. He also worked in Canada, Germany, and Alaska. Be began his career in the oilfield as a roughneck and retired as a drilling consultant. After his retirement in 1980, they moved to Chickasha. Cliff was a faithful member of the Grand Assembly of God Church. In previous years, he served as a deacon and on the building committee at the First Assembly of God Church of Chickasha. Cliff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who unselfishly dedicated his life to his family. Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Paul David Spotts and Johnny Ray Spotts. Survivors include: wife: Maxine Spotts of Chickasha; son: Gary Leon Spotts of Duncan; daughter and husband: Karen Sue and Jim Doan of Duncan; son and wife: Ross and Jane Spotts of Chickasha; daughter and husband: Becky Lynn and Dallas Landon of Minco; brother: Charles Spotts of Pleasant Hill, MO; sister and husband: Jewell Norvell and Bill of Pleasant Hill, MO; sister and husband: Mary Boston and James of Pleasant Hill, MO; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews. cousins. and other family. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
