Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, in the First Assembly of God Church of Rush Springs with the Rev Dale Gentry officiating and the Rev Alvin Roberts assisting. Music was provided by Sonjia Dalrymple, Fred Ash and Alvin Roberts. Burial was in Bailey Cemetery under the direction of the Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Mr Spears was born March 31, 1934 at Agawam, the son of Lee ROy Spears and Rosa Bell Simmons Spears. He was a long time resident of Rush Springs and was a commercial artist. He was a Rush Springs High School graduate. He attended the First Assembly God Church of Rush Springs. He is survived by his loving family, Sheila Pittman and husband Rocky of Rush Springs, Renee Jurkoshek and husband Jack of Houston, TX, Derek Spears and wife Teresa of Rush Springs; Melodi Trumble and husband Michael of Moore; grandchildren, Shawn Pittman, Brandy and Destry Horton and Kiley, Shannon Jurkoshek, Colby Spears, Cory Spears, Ryan Trumble and Taylor Trumble; one brother, Gene Simmons of Newcastle; three sisters, Lillian Zumwalt of Woodward, Muriel Davis of Aurora CO, and Margaret Estes of Houston, TX. Pallbearers were Kenny Anderson, Roger Carper, Randall Harris, Ray Owens, Calvin Todd, Donnie Wood. Honorary bearers were Fred Ash, David Meadows, L.C.
