Shannon Leigh Schuhs was born July 16, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Duran Trent Holman and Mona Kay (Mayberry) Holman. She died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, at Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City. On December 9, 1989, she married James Cecil Schuhs at the 1st United Methodist Church in Marlow. She lived in South Dakota for 20 months, was a Marlow resident for 3 1/2 years, and lived in Weatherford, OK, for 6 years. She enjoyed Indian bead work and rose gardening. Shannon attended school in Carthage, MO, graduated high school in Chickasha where she served as drum major in the marching band her junior and senior years. She also attended Southwestern University in Weatherford. Survivors include: her husband: James Cecil Schuhs, of the home; son: Devin Schuhs, of the home; father: Duran Trent Holman, of Tulsa; mother: Mona Kay Holman, of Marlow; 2 sisters: Kimberly Chambers, of Yukon, and Misty Schlehuber, of Plano, TX; 2 nieces: Keisha Chambers and Haleigh Schlehuber; nephew: William Schlehuber; maternal grandfather: John Mayberry, of Elmore City; paternal grandmother: Bonnie Holman, of Tulsa. Those who preceded her in death included her maternal grandmother, Eileen Anna (Workman) Mayberry, and paternal grandfather, Paschel "Pat" Holman.
