Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Rev. Charles Utsler will officiate. Sherman Taft Shockey was born February 27, 1909 and died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Chickasha. Services are under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco. ========== Tuttle Times 26 January 2005 SHERMAN TAFT SHOCKEY Funeral services for Sherman Taft Shockey, 95, former Minco resident were held Saturday, January 22, 2005, 2:30 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church SW of Minco with Rev. Charles Utsler officiating. Sherman Taft Shockey was born February 27, 1909 at Minco to John Wesley and Mary Martha Shockey and died Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at Chickasha. Mr. Shockey had lived in the Minco community all of his life. He married Katherine Kristina Hoerth on August 5, 1950 at Pocasset. He was a farmer and retired in 2000. Mr. Shockey was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church. He moved to Chickasha in 1985 after his wife Katherine passed away. Mr. Shockey was preceded in death by his parents: John and Katherine Shockey; one granddaughter: Misty Riley; ten brothers: Ralph, Wilbur, Henry, Albert, Porter, George, Dorey, Irvy, Lewis and Lester Shockey; two sisters: Etta Dean and Ella Fansler.
