Margaret Battiest, pastor of Little Washita Indian Methodist Church, Fletcher, and Rev. Mike Bates, pastor of Assembly of God Church, Cement. A prayer service will be held in the Hedge Funeral Home Chapel, Fletcher, Friday, August 23, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Saucier died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, in an Oklahoma City Hospital. Burial will be with Military Honors in the Little Washita Indian Cemetery, Fletcher, under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born August 23, 1942, in Pass Christian, Mississippi, and was raised there and in Delisle, Mississippi. After serving in the U. S. Army he married Geneva Ruby Poncey, June 3, 1962, in Anadarko, OK. They have lived in Chickasha for almost 10 years before moving to Cement in 1971. "Frenchy" was an oil field worker and was an all-around handyman "tinkerer" with woodworking crafts and enjoyed the wildlife and flower gardens. He loved returning to Mississippi for family gatherings. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Ruby Saucier and his mother in law, Josephine Marie "Josie" (Pahcoddy) Poncey, of the home, 4 sons: Carl Craig Saucier and his wife, Michelle, Edward Phillip "Phil" Saucier and his wife, Shelly Ann, Joel Mark Saucier and his partner, Nancy, all of Cement, and Merlin Ray "Bubba" Saucier and his wife, Karla Faye, of Cyril, 1 daughter: Laurie Smith and her husband, Bobby of Cement, a sister; Vida Lea Ladner and 1 brother: Willis Robert Saucier and his wife, Barbara, of Long Beach, Mississippi, 10 grandchildren and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edmond Alexander Saucier and Mary Elizabeth (Stiglet) Saucier and 2 grandchildren; John and Jayce.
