Pastor Dr. Rev. Nettie Fisher, minister, will officiate. Pauline Stephenson was born March 25, 1938, in Oklahoma, and died on Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, March 27 and 28, 2003. Burial will be in Rose Hill (correction: Fairlawn) Cemetery under the direction of Brown/Christian Funeral Home. ========== The Chickasha Express-Star 28 March 2003 PAULINE STEPHENSON Pauline Stephenson, also known as Auntie, Pumpkin, and PK, was born March 25, 1938, in Woodford, Oklahoma, to Paul and Izora Stephenson. She was the fourth child of six children born to this union. Her father Paul, mother Izora, sister Barbara, brothers Billy and Joe, preceded her in death. Pauline attended elementary school at Lincoln Elementary and High School in Chickasha where she was one of the first blacks to attend Chickasha High School. She continued her education and received her degree from USAO. She earned her master's degree from Central State University. Pauline touched the lives of many children as an educator for 30- plus years until her retirement in May of 2000. She was a dedicated teacher who believed that all children had self-worth and could learn. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the AME Methodist Church where she was a member of the Daycare Board and Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a member of ETA PHI BETA sorority and served on several committees in the community. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her homecoming: three daughters: Renee, Bridget, Marquita Green; and one son: Paul; granddaughters: Dionne, Morgan, Brittany and Jamie; grandsons: Robert, Paul, Joshua, Jordan, Oron and Julian; two sisters: Betty Adams and Rebecca Widener; brother-in-laws: Robert Adams and Walter Reeves; special friends: Charlotte Mitchell, Mary Stephenson and Ocelee Givens; son-in-law: James Green; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family friends, acquaintances and her church family, will cherish her memories. Funeral services for Pauline Stephenson will be held Saturday, March 29, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at Shepherd St. Christian Church, 808 Shepherd, Chickasha, OK. Rev. Dr. Nettie Fisher, minister, will officiate.
