All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 27 January 2005 JEAN ELLEN STEPHENS Jean Ellen Stephens, 74, of Ashland, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Comanche County Hospital in Coldwater, Kansas. She was born in Burdett, Kansas on September 18, 1930 the daughter of Edward G. & Ethel M. (White) Schroeder. Jean Ellen Stephens was a homemaker and had attended Tescott and Ellinwood Schools. She graduated from Pawnee Rock High School in 1948. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Eastern Star, B.P.W., 20th Century, and served on the Lexington Township Board. Jean Ellen Stephens was married to John Douglass (Jack) Stephens on December 4, 1949 in Ashland, Kansas. He proceeded her in death October 6, 1991. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Berkley. She is survived by her sons John Edward (Steve) Stephens II and wife Margie of Ashland, Kansas and Donald Douglass Stephens of Chickasha, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, January 28, 2005, at the Presbyterian Church of Ashland, Kansas. Rev. Barney Kaebelik will preside over the service. Visitation will be held at Myatt Funeral Home, Ashland, Kansas from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, Ashland, Kansas. Memorials should be made to Presbyterian Church or Lexington Centennial Committee in care of Myatt Funeral Home at P.O.
