The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Mavis Stoneking Graveside service for Mavis Stoneking, 89, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2002, at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Mavis Stoneking was born April 18, 1913, in Reklaw, Texas, the daughter of Wood Houston and Jimmie Laura (Spruill) Bunn, and died November 23, 2002, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Mavis and her family moved to Alex, Oklahoma, when she was 12 years old. She attended school in Alex. Mavis obeyed the Gospel and was baptized in Alex in August of 1931, shortly before moving to Chickasha. In Chickasha, Mavis worked at Montgomery Wards. Mavis later moved to Oklahoma City where she worked at J.C. Penny as a sales clerk for 30 years, retiring at the age of 69. On April 18, 1953, she married Eugene Genn Stoneking in Buena Vista, Arkansas. Mavis and Eugene had no children. She was preceded in death by: husband: Eugene Genn Stoneking; parents; 2 sisters: Oleta Nicholas and Authula Moore; 1 brother: James Rudolph. Survivors include: sister-in-law: Mickey Bunn of Chickasha; nieces: Mary Gail Reynolds of Vacaville, California, Vicki Gilbert of Lindale, Texas, Mary Louise Lindsey of Chickasha; nephew: Jimmy Reynolds of Paradise, California. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. --------------------------------------------------------------------
