Mark Carey Stanley, Jr. was born April 9, 1929, in Woodward, Oklahoma, the son of Mark Carey Stanley, Sr. and Mildred Bess White Stanley. He died on Wednesday, January 16, 2002, in Chickasha. Mark moved to Chickasha at an early age. He graduated from Chickasha High School and later attended the School of Hotel Administration at Oklahoma State University. He had been employed as assistant manager at Greenwich Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, and was club manager at the Bakersfield Country Club in Bakersfield, California. In 1967, Mark became club manager at the Pacific-Union Club in San Francisco, California. He retired in San Francisco in 1995, moving to Chickasha in 1999, where he was a resident at the Christian Care Retirement Village. Mark was preceded in death by both parents and a nephew, Vance Stanley. Survivors include: one brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Verlene Stanley, of Chickasha; one nephew: Kirk Stanley and his wife Pam, of Chickasha; one niece: Jani Stanley, of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and two grand nieces: Erika and Hannah Stanley. Arrangements were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
